Hey bloggers this week for reading we will be continuing novel studies, the Walt is Understand how the main idea affects the characters and the story line , anyway if you have read my recent blogs you will know the book I am doing Novel Studies on. So if you don’t know I am doing the book called the boy at the back of the class. So let’s get into the tasks I have been doing.
The learn create task bit
So for the learn task we had to write the main idea of the chapter we read last week, the main idea of the chapter was the three plans and what happened in them, so it was pretty easy writing down, I wrote it in a very short paragraph (👈 Definitely) Anyway had heaps of fun doing it, probably because it was very easy to do and to write down, but still enjoyed it, and still had fun doing it! Oh! Also it was about the plan it said Alexa was going to make, it said that there was no way any judge could say no to it, it even says the highest judge in the land won’t even say no to it!
So the second part of the learning bit was that we have to go and write the main idea to affect the characters and the story line. So the main idea is that Ahmet can be back with his Mum and Dad, and that the border gates don’t close. So I think that the Main idea of the book affects the characters by giving them hope that the new kid or new friend can be back with his Mum and Dad. They also don’t like what has happened to Ahmet’s family, so they feel very sad about what has happened. I really enjoyed this task and had fun writing the things in but also enjoyed that the Learn bit had a lot involved with the Walt. Thought that was really cool!
The Create bit
So for the create bit we had to go onto word cloud, so word cloud is an app that you can chose a shape and put it into the blank spot, the shape will generate and then you can chose some words and use these words and put them inside the shape. It’s very cool and Fun. So for this task we first have to get a shape and then choose ten things to describe the narrator and then put those inside the shape. So for my task I chose an Alligator for the shape and then got on to the task bit. So when choosing the ten things to describe Alexa we didn’t just have to write the word, you had to also write why. So when getting the descriptive words you can change the size and colour of the words, which I find cool! You can also make your own shape to put the words in!
So I enjoyed this task and had fun doing it, I mainly enjoyed finding the descriptive words to use on the shape for the narrator and writing them in. I thought it wasn’t as easy as the learning bit but still very fun. I think I found the bit where we had to find the descriptive words the hardest because I didn’t know much words I could use to describe the narrator but still managed it in the end!

First task!
So for the first task I had to go onto pixton, I was pretty excited for this at the start because I hadn’t used Pixton since I was a year 5. So first we had to log into pixton using Google and then we had to click on create comic strip. Our comic strip would be about Stan the Taxi Man, a very good taxi driver, that’s what I think! So first you could name it, and then you could go and start. So first you have to choose your background, I chose one with a taxi in it! Next you can go and get Stan the Taxi Driver, actually you can’t get it but you can make it, so go into characters and custom and then click create character. So the first step is to choose the gender, I clicked on Male and then you have to choose skin colour, hair colour and then hair, and costume and so on. So next I put him on the panel, after that I had to repeat the same process for Alexa and Tom. Once they are both created, you can position them and adjust where they are. You can put them into different poses or whatever, but next you should start writing the words, it’s very fun to do! Each time you write a new sentence you should add a new panel, in each panel you can change the background to where ever the story is set.
I really enjoyed this task and had lot’s of fun doing it. I was very excited at the start because it was pixton but when I used it, I had some trouble using it. Each time I wrote something, it wouldn’t load and then I had to delete the tab and get the tab back and see if it works again. But then something cool happened, it had stopped loading again and then the teacher, Whaea Annie came and looked at it, and when she looked at it it worked again, it was like this cool super power (👈 Cool!!). Anyway I had tons of fun doing this and I hope you like this task as much as I like it!

Create Task 2
So for this task we are going to do a summary, so this summary is on chapter 17 and I think I really like writing. So I really like this task. So first you can create a doc and then you can name it and move it into your reading folder! So next you can start writing your summary, a summary is a very short paragraph telling you what happens. You don’t want to write too much words or else its not really a summary, so yep, I really like writing and I hope you like my task!
So I really enjoyed this task, but not really writing the summaries, I always end up writing summaries way to big and then it’s always not really a summary, Anyway I tried my best to make this shorter. (Wish I could write longer!) Anyway I hope you enjoy reading this very short summary!
