Hey bloggers this week for reading we  are going to do novel studies! So first we went to go and do the word work we do every time. So for this word work we had to go and answer some questions, so first we had to write a summary. We had to summarise chapter eight. It might take a while but it is really easy to do. Next we had to answer a lot of questions, in the book. After that we had to make a fact file about Syria. This also took a while!

Create task 1

For this task we had to make a Recipe on a thing that has Pomegranate. I chose Pomegranate Glazed Salmon, I made this on a Google Drawing. I Wrote down the ingredients and the steps to make it. This meal might be good! Anyway I enjoyed making it!

Create task 2

For this task we had to create an news report with a character from the book. It has to be a character that is in chapter eight. I did it with a buddy. I did it with Toby. Toby was the reporter and I was the character!

Hey bloggers today is a student summit and for today’s lesson we are doing Kleki, Kleki is an app you can make art with, its very fun to use. So its best for making cool art that you put on building walls with spray paint. Forgot what it’s called. So they showed us how to do it by using the word Cool. It looked very cool. So when it was our turn I used the word FUN. It was very fun and there were so many cool tools to use! Anyway it was very fun.

Hey bloggers, this week for reading we will continue doing Novel Studies. We will still be doing The boy at the back of the class. So First I went to do the Word Work, for the Word Work I had to write a summary of chapter 5, Oh, we had to read chapter five on Monday. So after the summary we had to go and write the meaning of a few words and write a few answers for the questions we had to answer. We also had to do a bit more stuff but after that our Word Work is done!

Create Task 1

For the first task we had to choose a character from the book. So I chose Michael, with this character we had to draw him. I did it on a Google Drawing. SO first I got an image and then used curve over it and then added a few of my own details. I also used Curve to add a few of my own details, I had to make it look like him with the description of the book. He has an Afro and his shoes are never done up and he’s clumsy and his glasses are broken but he’s also a genius! I did this because we had to also write  a description beside the design!

Create Task 2

So for the second task we had to go and create a fact file about a refugee. So we had three refugee options, I chose RUTH. So I made this on a Google Drawing, so the first thing I did was go and title it and then write the name. So after that I went and wrote lots of facts to make it more detailed. I had to write Quite a bit so I could fill up the whole space!

Hey bloggers, this week we have to blog an activity from this week, so I will blog about the activity from today. Today we are learning more about the subtraction column method, we had to do this task with cows. We had to write the difference of how much milk the cows have produced by the names of each cow. It was pretty fun we had to use the subtraction method, well column method and I already know how to do that which is the reason why it’s easy. So we also had to write down the question and write down the answer in our books. We also had to write down the answer in a number sentence. That’s it in the today’s lesson. If you want to see the maths slide go into maths and then Mrs Austin and then go to the first slide and go to slide 14!

Hey bloggers this week for reading we are doing Novel Studies, for Novel Studies the book we are doing is called the Boy at the back of the class. This week we had to read the first chapter. For the first task we had to make a Google Drawing and make a Chair. Chapter one is called the empty chair. So for this chair I used Curve. I used a lot of Curve so I could make all the shadings and make it really good, I will show you mine!

Anyway after that we had to make a character description, I did this on a Google Drawing, it was pretty fun and the character I chose was Tom. I included a few cool things so I really like it!

Hey bloggers this week we have novel studies. For Novel studies we have been doing the book called The boy at the back of the class. For the task, we had to do the author profiles. We first had to create a copy of the student novel studies task slide and then insert the task there. So first I went on to a Google drawing, so on that Google Drawing, I first made a background, wrote the authors name in word art. and then started making some things about her and adding some pictures. So next I added some boxes and started to write a few things and facts, I wrote on a few boxes. So after that I found a few pictures of the books she has done and added them on to it.

I enjoyed doing this task and really liked making the background, it looks a bit 3D if you stared at it for long enough. The second thing I enjoyed was making all the text boxes and writing the facts in the box, doing that was really fun because I could chose the font and chose the facts I wanted to use for it. I still think I could have made more boxes with facts in them though. Anyway it was still really fun to do.

Hey bloggers, this week is the last week of the term, so this week the book I am doing is called The Celebration Of Matariki. Also there is no Walt, unless Walt is Matariki. Anyway back to the book. This book is telling us what we do on Matariki, so it tells us about Store Houses, and what food they have in them. They also tell us what they use to cook these foods. They also tell us how they celebrate Matariki.

Create Task 1

For the first task we had to go and create a Google Video, so on this Google Video we had to record ourselves reading a short Summary of our book. So first I did the first Video Slide, on that slide I wrote the title of the book and did the background, as a nice night sky so it would match. Next I moved on to the next slide and added stars and a few words and then I did a voice over.

Create Task 2

For the second task we had to create a copy of a Google Drawing. We are meant to create a poster about Matariki. So first I changed the Page Setup, I made it so it looked like a poster. Next I made a Dark-Blue Sky as the background using Gradient background colours. Next I wrote Matariki using the Permanent Marker font and then wrote a lot of facts about Matariki! Next I changed a lot of fonts and got one I liked.

Create Task 3

For the third task we had to create another Google Drawing, for this one I did not change the Page Setup. So for this task we had to go and write a Letter to the teacher on why Matariki is important. So first I changed the background colour into a nice light and dark red colour. Next I went and added a title and then wrote a long reason for why Matariki is Important. Also this time I did it to Miss Ferguson!

Hey bloggers today I am blogging on what we did for Silk. We had created lots of Art on Silk and had lots of fun. This task was from the student summit, this time Gilberthorpe school teaches us how to use silk. They teach us lots of cool tricks and tips on how to use silk. You can make a ton of fun art on silk. I had a lot of fun. Anyway down below is my presentation, in my presentation is my reflection, I included a bit of my art in it and I also included a few things on how they could do things more better and what they did really well.

Hey bloggers this week the thing we are doing for reading is related to Matariki because this Friday is Matariki! So this time we could choose the book we are doing out of Three options. The Stars of Matariki, The Matariki Icon and Star Gazing. So last week I did Star Gazing so that leaves me with two options. So I chose The Stars Of Matariki. All the books were digital. So this book is an article. It is about why the sky was special in the early days, what each and every star represented and what Matariki is. So that is what that article is about!

Create Task 1

For the first task we had to go and do the task called recall, this task was to create a video of what this article is about. So first I did the front Cover, I included the title of the book and added a really nice background that related to the book. Next I moved to the next slide where I would record myself reading a summary of the book. SO first I did a Voice over and did the summarising background as a nice blue and black sky with seven stars.

I enjoyed this task and it was pretty easy, the recording took three minutes to do and the background blend with gradient took one minute and then writing and putting In the pictures took at least four to five minutes. So it did not take that long and it was pretty easy to do all of this.

Create Task 2

For the second task we had to go and do a task called Understand. For this Task we had to create a Poster about Matariki. So I didn’t know what to create it on, so I created it on a Google Drawing and took some time using the page format to make it look like a Poster! So first I change the background in to a gradient colour and then wrote Matariki on it and then added what it is and what it means and how important it is for some people!

So I enjoyed this task, it was pretty easy and took me a bit shorter than the first task and it was easy to type down the facts and easy to do the background because I already had a Background in mind that I wanted to use, anyway this was very fun!

Create task 3

For the third task we had to go and do a task called Evaluate, for this task we had to go and make a letter to a teacher why Matariki is Important. So I did this on another Google Drawing and wrote a nice letter to a teacher why Matariki is Important. I did this letter to Whea Annie because she is my teacher for reading. This was very fun to doing!

I had very fun doing this and this was very easy to do and it was easy to make the background and write the letter!
